1) Overview

BestFreeAITools (“we”, “our”, “us”) operates free, browser‑based PDF utilities (e.g., merge, split, compress, convert, rotate, unlock, edit, watermark). These Terms govern your access to and use of bestfreeaitools.info and any related services, features, and content (collectively, the “Service”).

2) Eligibility

• By using the Service, you represent that you are at least 13 years old (or the age of digital consent in your jurisdiction) and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms.
• If you use the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you are authorized to accept these Terms on its behalf.

3) License & user content

You retain all rights in files and content you upload (“User Content”). You grant us a worldwide, non‑exclusive, limited license to host, process, and transmit your User Content solely to operate the Service and deliver the function you request (e.g., convert, merge). We do not use your files for advertising or model training.

You are responsible for your User Content and for ensuring you have all necessary rights to upload and process it. Do not upload unlawful, infringing, or harmful content.

4) Acceptable use

When using the Service, you agree that you will NOT:

• Violate any applicable law, regulation, or third‑party rights (including copyright, trademark, privacy).
• Upload malicious code, malware, viruses, or any content intended to damage or disrupt systems.
• Upload highly confidential personal data or regulated information you are not authorized to process.
• Use the Service for harassment, hate speech, illegal activities, or distribution of unlawful material.
• Attempt to bypass security, rate limits, or access the Service by automated scraping without permission.

5) File handling & deletion

• Files are processed temporarily and solely to provide the selected tool’s function.
• We strive to delete uploaded files automatically after processing or within a short period (typically within 1 hour).
• Network caches/CDNs may briefly retain encrypted fragments that expire automatically.
• We recommend that you avoid uploading highly confidential documents and always keep backups.

6) Accounts

Most tools do not require registration. If accounts or saved preferences are introduced, you are responsible for safeguarding your credentials and for all activity under your account. Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use.

7) Intellectual property

The Service (excluding your User Content) including text, UI, graphics, logos, icons, and code is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or create derivative works except as expressly permitted by these Terms.

8) Third‑party services

We may use third‑party services for hosting, analytics, email/contact forms, or content delivery (e.g., CDN). Your use of third‑party services is subject to their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third‑party sites or services.

9) Availability & changes

• The Service is provided on an “as available” basis and may be modified, suspended, or discontinued at any time without liability.
• We may add, change, or remove features (including introducing premium features) with or without notice.
• We may update these Terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date shows the latest version. Your continued use means you accept the changes.

10) Warranty disclaimer

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON‑INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR‑FREE, SECURE, OR THAT FILES OR RESULTS WILL MEET YOUR NEEDS.

11) Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL WE BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, OR BUSINESS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM SHALL NOT EXCEED USD $50 OR THE AMOUNT YOU PAID (IF ANY) FOR THE SERVICE IN THE 3 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM AROSE, WHICHEVER IS GREATER.

12) Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, damages, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of or related to your use of the Service, your User Content, or your violation of these Terms or applicable law.

13) Copyright/DMCA

We respect intellectual property rights. If you believe content on the Service infringes your copyright, please send a notice including: (a) your contact details, (b) identification of the copyrighted work and the allegedly infringing material (with URLs), (c) a statement of good‑faith belief, and (d) a statement under penalty of perjury that you are authorized to act, to: support@bestfreeaitools.info.

14) Governing law & disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of your operating jurisdiction without regard to conflict‑of‑law rules. You agree to the exclusive jurisdiction and venue of the courts located in that jurisdiction to resolve any dispute. If any part of this clause is unenforceable, the remaining parts remain in effect.

15) Termination

We may suspend or terminate access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, if we believe you have violated these Terms or if necessary for security, maintenance, or legal reasons. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately.

16) Miscellaneous

• No waiver: Our failure to enforce any right or provision shall not be deemed a waiver of such right.
